Auroville Travel Guide

Auroville is an experiential township mostly in Tamil Nadu with some parts in Pondicherry, founded in 1968.

Auroville wants to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realise human unity.

My first feeling upon reaching Auroville was positive. The place looked like a small village with a friendly vibe.

As I explored more, I fell in love. I woke up to chirpy birds, a cool breeze and a view of lush green trees. I ate simple healthy food, participated in various new activities and spent an amazing 24 days there.

A lot of people have told me that they did not like Auroville. The most common reason is that they didn’t know what all was there to explore and experience. Also, visiting it for only a day or two from Pondicherry is a bad idea.

I’ve read many travel blogs on Auroville but didn’t find this info anywhere so thought to create this travel guide to help fellow travelers.
